Setting the program defaults and settings

Once Powerquote is installed, the next step is to set up your agency and login information. These are the basic settings required for powerquote to run comparative rates. Your company defaults, Quomation password and the passwords you have set up with providers are all entered here.

First, when you open Powerquote, click on the 'Misc Info' button to open the default settings.

On the default options window, click on the 'Misc Options' tab on the right. Then type in the Quomation username and password that was provided to your agency. This allows the program to sign in and notify you of updates, and download updates from our site.

Next, click on the Quote Defaults tab on the left. This is where you enter all of the defaults that you want applied to any new quote. Set your desired defaults for drivers, vehicles, structure and home coverages by clicking each type on the left. On the right, set the defaults that you prefer for each type. These will be applied to any new quote by default.

Next, click on the company options tab. This is probably the most important area of the setup process. On the left is the list of Auto and Home providers for your area. Use the drop down list at the top to change between home and auto providers. Then, check only the boxes next to each company you want to do business with, that you have passwords for.

Next, enter the login information for each company. Click the company name on the left, and you will see their sign in options on the right. Click the unlock button, and the show passwords box. Type in all of the sign in information you were given by that company. Sometimes they don't give you everything that has a field, but at the very least make sure your agency number, website username and password is entered. You can use the 'test login' button to check if the login is valid. If it is not, contact the provider to get the correct login inormation. Once entered, click the lock button. Do this for each company you can work with.

Once all of your passwords have been entered, click the agency options tab. Make sure your agency information is correct on this page. Use the edit button to make any agency informatton changes. Once done, click the save and return button at the bottom and you should be back at the Powerquote startup screen.
